ÉPISODE 6/7 : Guérisseurs traditionnels et médecine
L’essentiel, c’est que ça marche ! Magali Jenny est ethnologue et anthropologue, collaboratrice scientifique au Tibet Museum à Gruyères et chargée de cours
à l’Université de Fribourg. Sa fascination pour le monde des guérisseurs traditionnels remonte à l’enfance. Alors, au moment de choisir le thème de son mémoire de licence, au lieu d’aller observer les chamans de Sibérie ou d’Amazonie, cette scientifique s’est intéressée aux guérisseurs de son coin de pays.
Ses livres « Guérisseurs, rebouteux et faiseurs de secret en Suisse romande » (Favre, 2008) et « Le nouveau guide des guérisseurs de Suisse romande » (2012) se sont vendus à près de 80 000 exemplaires en Suisse francophone. Ils ont énormément contribué à lever le voile de secret et de mystère qui enveloppaient depuis toujours ces pratiques populaires. Une réédition enrichie et actualisée de ses publications précédentes vient de sortir de presse, preuve que
l’engouement pour ces soigneurs de l’ombre ne se dément pas. Bien au contraire, le recours aux guérisseurs va même en se renforçant.
Après avoir contribué à libérer la parole sur un sujet longtemps tabou, Magali Jenny se bat aujourd’hui pour réconcilier cette médecine « officieuse » avec la médecine « officielle ». Elle rappelle ainsi que les deux approches sont bel et bien complémentaires, et non opposées.
